Stevie was in charge of Halloween costumes this year and after much struggling to reach a middle ground (he wanted them dressed as shirtless gladiators...I wanted them dressed as a cow and a chicken) Frankenstein was the closest we came to an agreement. They looked adorable in them but as soon as we dressed Braxton to go to the museum that Thursday, we were boldly reminded that he is not a fan of one-piece outfits. He couldn't get to his beloved belly button and we knew it would make for a less than pleasant evening if we didn't do something about it. So what did we do? We cut a slit in the center of his $35 Frankenstein costume. It took a while for him to get the logistics of his new belly hole, but eventually he figured it out and was picking away at it like nothing. Oh, and the children's museum didn't even happen- the line was wrapped around the building! You'd swear they were giving away cars in there. Maybe they were. We went out to dinner instead and the boys had a ball throwing their food onto the floor and waving at strangers.
Halloween day we had plans to trick or treat but Stevie was in super protective mode and said he didn't want us eating poisonous candied apples and razor blade chocolates. I tried to explain that all we had to do was take the candy and throw it away, but he wasn't having it. So we went to the park with all the other freak dads. It was actually a lot of fun and the boys didn't miss their candy one bit. And no one was poisoned.
Oh yeah, and THEY'RE WALKING! It's by no means their preferred mode of transportation but they can definitely do it. Look below.
This Stevie fellow sounds like a smart whip. He's probably handsome, too.
